Full Description:
Lt Col F R Humphreys to Carleton. Kingston, Jamaica. Has learned from two officers of the 79th, recently arrived from the Havanna captured at Rattan Island, that the men under their command were sent to be exchanged at New York and applies as commanding officer to have the men sent to Jamaica to join the regiment rather than drafting them into another corps. Would be glad if Lieutenant James Smith, believed to be in New York, could accompany them.
