Full Description:
Charles Middleton to Carleton. Navy Office. Private. Sends particulars of what has been kept back of the provisions originally intended for New York and Charlestown. Details of those to be sent ot Barbadoes for 20,000 men, as it appears the state of the stores at New York will allow this. Has written to General Mathews concerning the necessity of unloading the ships and of preparing for their arrival. Stresses the importance of the empty vessels being returned to Europe at every opportunity as they are needed for future service. Details of stores remaining at Cowes.
