Full Description:
Admiral Hugh Pigot to Carleton. From the 'Formidable' at sea. Announcing his arrival and that of his fleet on the American coast. Was obliged to cruise for a fortnight off Havana to protect the trade bound for Europe from the enemy. Intends looking into the Chesapeake for the French and if they are not there, will be in New York in a few days.
