Full Description:
Camp, Staaten Island. Captain Gilbert Livingston and other officers of the American Legion, commanded by Major Menzies, to Carleton. Memorial deprecating the proposal to disband the corps or incorporate the men into other regiments; promising to complete their quotas of men in a reasonable time. At the foot is a note by Michael Houseal that the memorial although 'done agreeable to Major Menzies's advise' was refused his recommendation.
