Full Description:
[Carleton] to Major-General Mathew, Commander-in-Chief of the Leeward Islands. Has received a copy of instructions to Henry White. Has written to Lieutenant General Leslie commanding in South Carolina requesting him to supply horses and cavalry appointments for 50 men, also 200 'negroes'. Fears the rice cannot be supplied as the people of Charlestown are in need at present. Will encourage the export of lumber from America to Antigua. News from Major Maxwell of the 38th Regiment that the two missing transports mentioned in the letter of 31 July have arrived safely in Jamaica.
