Full Description:
Riedesel to Carleton. Isle aux Noix. 'Has received his from Porstmouth'. Wrote lately congratulating him on his appointment as Commander- in- Chief; also recommended to his protection those of the Brunswick troops still at New York or in the enemy's hands and desired that those already exchanged be sent to Canada, the regiments being short of officers. Recommends Cornet Schonewald who will deliver this letter to Carleton's protection during his stay in New York.
