Full Description:
Lieutenant-General Alexander Leslie to Carleton. Charlestown. Recounting [the American] General Greene's refusal to permit supplies to be brought into the Brtish lines. Gives details of the expeditions sent out under Majors Brereton of the 64th, and Doyle of the Irish Vounteers and the subsequent engagements with the enemy. Mentions Colonel Laurens [enemy forces], Captains Gillis and Dawkins of the South Carolina Dragoons and Major Fraser. Encloses correspondence with Greene relating to the exchange of prisoners.
