Full Description:
Charles Ogilvie and Gideon Dupont junior, delegates from HM loyal subjects assembled at Charlestown, South Carolina, to Carleton and Digby. New York. Memorial. Praying that the evacuation of Charleston be deferred until the spring and citing the reasons; that the governor of Jamaica be recommended to make provision for the Loyalists who intend to go there; that their constituents may be permitted to indemnify themselves by seizing and carrying away the moveable property of such of their enemies as are without the lines and that all such property within the lines, including sequestered 'negroes' and many others in public service, also be taken and applied as far as it will extend to the same purpose. Prays that the Board of Police may have orders to take notice of all actions for debt of every kind and that it shall sit a reasonable number of days in every week so long as the garrison remains.
