Full Description:
[Carleton] to the Secretary of State. Separate. Lieutenant Colonel Elligood received a commission as Lieutenant-Colonel of Provincials in 1776, was taken prisoner soon after and on his release and arrival in New York made a claim for his pay which was left undecided by Clinton. Has ordered the payment of £300 to him, in consideration of his distresses and referred him to England for settlement of his claims; he has also received subsistence from 22 May 1780 to 24 August 1782.
