Full Description:
Major-General De Riedesel to Carleton. Sorel. Received yesterday a letter from Captain Cleve announcing his arival at Halifax with the recruits, clothing and camp equipment for the whole of the Brunswick corps and that he was ordered to go to and remain at Penobscot with his detachment. Says that the regiments in Canada, having received no clothing or stores for the last three years, will be in the greatest distress if the present supply does not arrive before winter. Requests that Captain Cleve's detachment be moved from from Penobscot to Halifax and thence to Canada as soon as safely possible.
