Full Description:
Rear-Admiral Robert Digby to Lieutenant-General James Robertson. New York. Under the necessity of 'applying for some place to put the French prisoners brought in by the 'Warwick' and the ships that were with her, as the 'Jersey' is already so full she will not hold more than 50. Excepting one transport which may hold 150 or 200 at most, he does not have a place to put a man and will therefore be reduced to either taking from the transports bound to Carolina, or turning the prisoners on shore to take their chance. If they were to remain a week more on board the King's ships it would endanger them and render them sickly'.
