Full Description:
John Tailyour to Carleton. Memorial. That he had on recommendation of a board of officers, provided a quantity of stores for the prisoners at Lancaster and being furnished with passport and invoice, had arrived there safely and opened a store for the disposal of them. Had sold them only to the officers, soldiers and their wives but after some weeks the whole of the stores, and even his books and papers had been seized by order of the Executive Council of Pennsylvania. That he has memorialised the Council, as well as General Lincoln but no answer is received, and the goods are still in their [i.e. American] hands. Prays some steps may be taken for the recovery of the property.
