Rear-Admiral Robert Digby to Carleton. New York. As the French prize, 'L'Aigle' will probably be brought into the service, and as Captain Elphinstone wishes to have her, he thinks her guns too heavy. Begs to have the eighteen pounders that were the 'Culloden's', which General Martin informs him there will be no objection to if they can be replaced by eighteen or twenty four pounders of which there are a sufficient number of English cast guns on board the 'Aigle'.
