Full Description:
Lieutenant-Colonel James Moncrief. Charleston. Certifies that Lieutenant John Wilson of the 71st Regiment, who has been and is now acting as an assistant engineer, has not been paid as such since the end of December 1781. The reason that he has not been charged as an assistant is on account of Moncrief not being certain 'whither he is not appointed in the Corps of Engineers'.
