Full Description:
Captain Robert Mathews to Maurice Morgann. Quebec. Acknowledges receipt of his previous letter with a note concerning the clearance of the 1st and 2nd Battalion of the 84th Regiment. Encloses a copy of a letter from William Robinson [of the Treasury] signifying the pleasure of the Lords Commissioners respecting the 1st battalion, In consequence of which, His Excellency was pleased to order a board to examine into the accounts of the said regiment from the time of its being embodied to the date of its establishment, from the report of which he granted his warrant for payment of the balance that appeared due.
