Full Description:
Carleton to the Chevalier De La Luzerne. Headquarters. Circumstances will not admit of his permitting Monsieur Barbe to come within the lines. If a person in New York is named to act as agent, will give every facility to execute his intentions. As the whole business is purley belonging to the [Ministère de la] Marine, the Admiral will take care that whatever is sent for, the prisoners shall be distributed as directed.
