Full Description:
Thomas Desbrisay, Lieutenant-Governor of the island of St John [Nova Scotia], to Carleton. Charlotte Town. Memorial. Details his services and those of his named sons. Offers to augment the St John's Volunteers to a battalion at his own expense and would expect to be appointed colonel or lieutenant-colonel commandant of the battalion in America only, and to have nomination of the officers. If not approved begs to be appointed lieutenant-colonel to the Fencibles under Colonel Gorham or the vacant majority to the King's Rangers or major-commander of the St John's Volunteers even without pay he will be satisfied, or any other corps Carleton thinks fit.
