Full Description:
Lancaster [Pennsylvania]. Certificate by [the Ameican] Captain A [Alexander] Gillon that the 39 persons on the list (given at foot) have been engaged by him and have signed an agreement to serve the State of South Carolina and are at present in the ship 'South Carolina' for a cruise of six months at the end of which they will be dismissed, he (Gillon) having General Lincoln's discharge which he promises to deliver to each.
