Full Description:
Margaret Ledreu to Carleton. New York. Petition. That her late husband Herman Ledreu was employed as foreman carpenter in the Engineers' Department for eight years until his death on 25 June 1782. Lieutenant Fryers of the engineers is ready to testify as to her husband's fidelity and diligence. She and her children are destitute and entreats for some allowance for her and their support. At the foot is a note that the husband went from New York and Boston at the beginning of the war and found his wife and children in New York on his return. He was born in Philadelphia and had been settled in this city.
