Full Description:
[Sir Guy Carleton] to Major General James Paterson. Hopes the reinforcement would have arrived at Penobscot in time to take cover before the severe weather. Blankets, coats and other stores to be sent by the first safe convoy, also to supply the Hessian troops. Hanau, Waldeck, Anhalt and Anspach troops need to have what they need most. Major General Riedesel makes representations for the Brunswick corps in Canada needing the clothes and stores that arrived in Halifax from Germany. Requests Paterson makes arrangments for relieving their recruits from the Penobscot and sending them with supplies to Canada in early spring. Makes no doubt he will be able to control abuses in public accounts and business of the Engineers Department. A reference to the dates of commissions will determine the dispute between Captains Callbeck and Hayden. Has no objections to 5s a day being added to his military secretary.
