Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Number 78. Warrant to pay Mr John St Clair, Paymaster of His Majesty's 17th Regiment of Light Dragoons, the sum of £2,059 12s 7d sterling. Being subsistence for the said regiment from 25 October to 24 December 1782 inclusive, as per the annexed account. From which the sum of £535 19s sterling for non effective men and horses and 14,227 rations of forage, £243 17s 3d for 23,411 rations of provisions, and £4 14s. sterling for stppages due from the said regiment to hospitals at New York is to be detained.
