Full Description:
Governor John Parr to [Carleton]. Halifax, Nova Scotia. Encloses a memorial from Mr Abbott and begs His Excellency will give directions that the prayer of this memorial may be complied with. Has now taken the command of the Nova Scotia Volunteers and could carry on that duty much better if he were restored to his rank in the army. Does not ask for emolument but thinks his rank local or in the army, would be attended with good consequence.
