Full Description:
Governor Parr. Halifax, Nova Scotia. Extract of letter to Parr. Memorial of William Abbott, Merchant. Due to the stop being put on the exportation of flour by the authority of parliament, Nova Scotia must eventually suffer in that grand resource of sustenance and bread. The memorialist therefore humbly requests that this matter be represented to Carleton, Commander-in-Chief, to permit the memorialist to export from New York to Halifax a cargo of flour for the relief of this province and in some measure prevent the dreaded calamity. Subjoined is a letter from Adjutant-General De Lancey to Brook Watson, forwarding the extract and memorial.
