Full Description:
Paterson to Carleton. Halifax. Number 5. Encloses an explanation received from Mr Crawford, late Commissary of Stores &c., in this province relative to the appointment of Mr Spencer at Penobscot. He himself understood Brigadier-General Campbell's request only to be a change of posts reciprocally agreeable and convenient to the parties concerned. Supposes some misapprehension has arisen. Would wish to know how the Commissary-General came by his intelligence on this subject.
