The Rebels and Spaniards have endeavoured to detach them but without success. The Upper Creek chiefs sending the head warrior Emistisicho some 500 miles to the relief of Savannah, where they [allegedly] routed the besieging forces of General Wayne with a 'trifling loss'. Has need of more Indian presents, the strictest economy will be practised, and there will be no General left in the Southern District after the evacuation of Charleston. Has ordered Mr Shaw, the deputy, to join Lieutenant-Governor Graham in a memorial for a warrant of impress for £3,000 to defray coming expenses.
