Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Number 86. Warrant to pay Captain Charles Handfield, paymaster to the 22nd Regiment of Foot, the sum of £1,177 16s 2d sterling. Being subsistence for the said regiment from 25 October to 24 December 1782, both days included as per the annexed accounts. From which £317 15s 2d sterling is to to be detained for 30,505 rations of provisions issued from 25 August to 24 October 1782, both days included and also £7 16s 4d sterling for stoppages due for the hospital in New York, from 25 August to 24 October 1782, as per the annexed receipt and account.
