Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Number 89. Warrant to pay Ensign James Rose, acting paymaster to the 1st Battalion, 42 Regiment of Foot the sum on £1,858 12s 6d sterling. Being subsistence for the said battalion from the 25 October to 24 December 1782, both days included as per the annexed account. From which £544 11s 9d sterling is to be detained fro 52,697 rations of provisions issued, and also £21 7s for stoppages due the hospital at New York from 25 August to 24 October 1782.
