Full Description:
Governor Benjamin Harrison to Carleton. Virginia. Discussion with regard to procuring satisfaction for the owners of the cargo on board the sloop 'William and John' when she was cut out of Hampton Roads. As it was without effect, nothing now remains but to make compensation for the prime cost of the goods on an invoice of which he encloses. General Washington 'will be so obliging to appoint some person to receive the money'.
