Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Number 87. Warrant to pay Captain James Drury, paymaster to a detachment of the 23rd Regiment of Foot the sum of £186 1s 10d sterling. Being subsistence for the Grenadier Company and a detachment of the said regiment from 25 October to 24 December 1782, both days included as per the annexed account. From which £60 8s. 9d sterling be detained for 5,802 rations of provisions issued, and also £5 2s 8d sterling for stoppages due to the hospital in New York inclusive, as per the annexed receipt and account.
