Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Number 29. Warrant to pay Cornet P. C. Waterbury, Paymaster to the American Legion the sum of £766 13s 8d and three farthings sterling. Being pay for the said Legion from 25 August to 24 October 1782, both days included as per the annexed account. From which the sum of £19 3s 3d and one farthing sterling is to be detained for stoppage, also £123 17s 8d and half penny sterling for 11,893 rations of provisions issued from 25 June to 24 August 1782, both days included, and £2 10s 4d sterling for stoppages due the hospital at New York.
