Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Number 218. Warrant to pay Captain Samuel Ryerse of the 3rd Battalion, New Jersey Volunteers the sum of £59 12s 11d sterling. Being to reimburse him and sundry other officers of the Provincial detachment who have served under the command of the late Major Patrick Ferguson of the 71st Regiment in Carolina in 1780 and it being that sum which was stopped from them by Adam Gordon Esquire, then acting paymaster of Provincials at Charleston, on a settlement of accounts of the said detachments. Authorised by order of Major [John] André.
