Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Number 228. Warrant to pay Captain Charles Handfield, 'Paymaster of Absent Corps', the sum of £106 14s 2d and one half penny sterling. Being bounty money paid to 49 non-commissioned officers and soldiers who have made their escape from the Rebels between 10 September and 12 November 1782, at two guineas per man, as per the annexed account.
