Full Description:
John Cruden to Carleton. Charleston [South Carolina]. Discussion with regard to the withdrawl of the garrison at Charleston, wanting to know about the enemy property in his hands and the final settlement of his audited accounts. Begs that his peculiar hardship may be taken into consideration and that as he has sacrificed a liberal property. Begs he may not be oppressed with the difficulties of his office and that payment of his accounts which are upwards of £4,000 may be ordered and paid to his brother Mr James Cruden.
