Full Description:
[Oliver De Lancey] to Brigadier-General [Benedict] Arnold. Adjutant-General's Office. The Commander-in-Chief desired him to mention that it would be satisfactory to him if Arnold would procure an order from home for him to continue issuing his pay as Brigadier-General. The Commander-in-Chief is convinced of the propriety of him receiving it, yet without a special order for the purpose it would be construed to be a precedent and claimed by every person in the same rank, though without other pretensions.
