Full Description:
Brigadier-General Benedict Arnold to Carleton. London. Cannot suppose that his regiment should be the only one precluded from recruiting and the expenses which the officers have incurred in raising their men, not only will be lost but their future hopes blasted unless their situation and circumstances had been greatly misrepresented by Colonel Innes, and in consequence the officers ruined. If any officer in the corps who has completed his number of men is so void of the honour as to endeavour to ruin his brother officers of the corps by seeking a permanent rank in some other, he has confidence as to believe that Carleton will not permit it.
