Governor Patrick Tonyn to Carleton. St Augustine, Florida. Discussing the arrival of the refugees, the Loyalists and the 'negroes', the formation of a military establishment on St Mary's, and the fact that they will be short of grain next summer unless provisions can be sent. The raising of a regiment, the inactivity to the southward, and the arrival of Indians from numerous nations and how he is to treat them. Mentions Creeks, Chickasaws, Choctaws, Cherokees, Mohawks, Senecas, Delawares, Shawnees, Tuscaroras, and other tribes from Fort Detroit.
