Full Description:
Halifax. Roger Johnson to Paterson. Return of provisions, rum, molasses &c., remaining in H.M. stores at Halifax, Nova Scotia, including the different posts within the harbour on 24 December 1782, with a calculation of the number of days they will victual the present garrison. 5,400 men for provisions, 5,000 men for rum or molases. Mentions the situation with regard to provisions for New York and Penobscot, and notes that as the victuallers from England are not expected until August, there will not be a sufficiency of flour in store to supply the outposts even for six months, although of all other species there will be a sufficient quantity.
