Full Description:
Major Thomas Murray to [MacKenzie]. New York. Letter to Mr Livingston will be sent. All buildings of the rebels have been applied for the purpose of barracks and guard rooms, when no such places offered by the crown have always been built or hired from the inhabitants. General officers quarters and several regimental stores have been paid for out of the fund under the direction of the vestry. An account of such expenditure shall be sent and the Barrack-Master-General could he (Murray) believes, furnish an account of what sums were paid by the crown.
