Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Number 39. Warrant to pay Captain Thomas Miller, paymaster the sum of £1,716 9s 6d sterling. Being pay for the British Legion from 25 October to 24 December 1782, both days included as per the annexed account. From which the sum of £57 2s 2d and one half penny sterling to be detained for stoppage from the pay of the commissionded officers. Also £149 13s 11d and one half penny sterling being for 14,371 rations of provisions issued, and £3 10s sterling stoppage due the hospital at New York.
