Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Warrant to pay Mr William Porter, on account of Colonel John Burgoyne the sum of £33 sterling. Being for 66 days pay allowed for an assistant to Burgoyne, Commissary for mustering foreign troops serving in North America, in the pay of Great Britain, from 1 January to 7 March 1782 inclusive, at 10s per diem, the same being paid by the order of the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury, signified in a letter from John Robinson Esquire dated 9 March 1778.
