New York. Depositions numbering 52 translated from the German original. Before a Board convened by Lieutenant-General de Lossberg on the orders of Carleton to examine the causes of the German soldiers entering into rebel service on board the 'South Carolina' and at the same time to establish from these men and others who have or may come in from captivity how our prisoners have been treated by the enemy. Officers Captain de Eschwege, Hesse Hanau Regiment; Lieutenant Reinking, Regiment de Riedesel and Lieutenant de Eptingen, Linsing Battalion of Hessians.
