Full Description:
Lieutenant Jno. Mowbray to McArthur. St Augustine. Having been informed that a particular account of the depth of water on St Mary's Bar is required, encloses account and if it proves of any service he will be very happy as it is the result of his own six years experience on this station. Adds that no naval officer knows more than he of the bars, harbours and coast from the cape of Virginia to Cape Carnavarell [Florida] having had 20 years experience.
