Full Description:
[Carleton] to Thomas Townshend. New York. Sends copy of letter from Washington dated 24 December 1782 enclosing one to him from General Lincoln at Philadelphia. Is informed that Captain Schaak has been parolled but he (Carleton) has no information as to his whereabouts. Says no prisoners of any sort have been released in exchange for those sent from England or freed by Haldimand. Also sends copy of letter to Governor Par about the refugees wishing to settle on Nessway [?] Harbour.
