Full Description:
Carleton to William Deane Poyntz, Paymaster-General. New York. Number 4. Warrant to pay Mr Anthony Stewart, paymaster to the Maryland Loyalists, the sum of £603 6s 1d sterling. Being pay for the said Loyalists from 25 October to 24 December 1782, both days included as per the annexed account. From which £19 0s 8d and three farthings sterling to be detained being stoppage from the pay of the commissioned officers. Also £85 11s 5½d sterling for 8,215 rations of provisions issued, and 19s 4d sterling for the stoppages due for the hospital at New York.
