Full Description:
Thomas Townshend to Colonel Brown, Superintendent of Indian Affairs. Whitehall. Given the uncertainty of the reaction of the Indians in East Florida to the cession of the province to Spain, he is to direct all his department's officers to withdraw with the traders as speedily as possible and in such manner as they deem expedient from the Indian Nations and to go to St Augustine. To give orders for the distribution of all the presents intended for the Indians in the stores at that place, together with a seasonable [sic] quantity of rum to such Indians as may chose to go there to receive it.
