Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Warrant to pay Captain Charles Handfield, Paymaster of Absent Corps the sum of £94 12s 3d and one farthing sterling, which with £200 sterling previously granted to him amounts to £294 12s 3d and one farthing sterling. Being subsistence of non-commissioned officers and men of Absent British Corps from 25 October 1782 to 23 February 1783, as per the annexed account. From which the sum of £34 18s 6d and one half penny sterling is to be detained for 3,353 rations of provisions issued. Also £37 5s sterling for stoppages due to the hospitals at New York and Charleston.
