Full Description:
Carleton to Poyntz. New York. Warrant to pay Mr John St Clair, Paymaster of the 17th Regiment of Light Dragoons the sum of £2,069 13s 10d sterling. Being subsistence for the said regiment from 24 February to 24 April 1783 inclusive as per the annexed account. From which the sum of £575 5s 9½d sterling is to be detained for non-effective men and horses, and 12,313 rations of forage. Also £233 6s 8d sterling for 22,400 rations of provisions issued, and £3 14s 8d sterling due for the hospital at New York.
