Full Description:
Peter Paumier to MacKenzie. New York. Nothing but his friendship for Lieutenant-Governor Graham woud have prevailed on him to have given himself any trouble about the Indian matter in question. To show how far he is unluckily concerned in it he encloses Mr Douglas's letter to himself notifying that he has drawn on him for £600 sterling in favour of Stanton, Forbar & Co. The remainder of the money was to be remitted to England to Graham, whose unhappy situation requires it. Begs him to return the letter when he has done the needful with it.
