Full Description:
Lieutenant-Colonel Benjamin Thompson to Carleton. New York. Memorial on behalf of himself and the officers and men of the King's American Dragoons under his command. Explaining that excepting for the Adjutant they are all American and have suffered very considerably by the rebellion. That in the event of peace and the independency of the American provinces, all their hopes of returning to their former situations will be at an end and they will be reduced to the greatest distress. Beg that as they have been trained up in the service from youths, they may be able to remain.
