Full Description:
Andrew Elliot, Superintendent-General to Morgann. Police Office, New York. Discusses previous directions with regard to making out a form of return of all the memorials given into the police in consequence of the general orders of 18 February 1783. Encloses sketch of such form and requests it is laid before the Commander-in-Chief. Also goes on to mention what is being done about deserted property, and that the books containing the reports of the Board of Enquiry of 28 August 1780 obtained from the Commandant's office are at present lodged at the Superintendent's Office in Water Street, if they should be wanted.
